Granny D turns 97 today
1910 Granny D (formerly Granny Haddock), born Ethel Doris Haddock, American politician and progressive political activist from the state of New Hampshire.
Haddock famously walked across the continental United States in 1999 to advocate campaign finance reform and in 2004 ran unsuccessfully as a Democratic challenger to incumbent Republican Judd Gregg for the US Senate. She is noted for her colourful character and advanced age.
