Maybanke Anderson (1845 - 1927) was a remarkable Australian suffragette colleague of
Louisa Lawson (character in my novel, '
Faces in the Street: Louisa and Henry Lawson and the Castlereagh Street Push'). She founded the first free kindergartens in the world, for poor children of Sydney. Anderson is also mentioned in my novel.
This audio documentary is about Maybanke Anderson and her brother, Norman Selfe, who was just as remarkable.
