Bernie Banton, 1946 - 2007

We sadly note the death of Bernie Banton, AM, who fought Australia's James Hardie company for compensation for thousands of people who have contracted asbestos-related diseases from James Hardie products. James Hardie was a cunning opponent that gained widespread opprobrium for its tactics, but Banton's life ended in victory.

Bernie Banton will be given a State funeral by the New South Wales government.
