Note to Australian journalists: It's the occupation, stupid

Read about the lies and myths of the War on Terror
A couple of hours ago, George Bush (in Australia for APEC), answered questions from Australian media.

He said that a main reason for continuing the occupation of Iraq was that if Al Qaeda got a stronghold in that country, more problems would occur.

This would have been an excellent opportunity for Bush to be strongly challenged by milksop Australians journalists. For example, they might have raised the fact that before Bush invaded Iraq, Al Qaeda could not get a foothold in that country because Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden were enemies. It's the occupation that has destabilized a stable country, left one million dead, and created a climate for terrorism to grow.
