Further to my last comment, I've just blogged this (which was news to me):
UK: "Cambridgeshire Police said it was launching a domestic violence campaign for the duration of the tournament and officers promised a 'robust approach'.
"'We know that there will be an increase in the amount of alcohol consumed during the World Cup and that emotions will be running high, not just for England fans, but for fans of other countries', said a spokesman.
"'Therefore it is essential that our message is clear -- a beaten team is not an excuse for a beaten partner'."
---
It seems that enraged fans who are prone to beating their partners are more likely to kill them during the world cup. Abused women may escape temporarily while their partners are distracted by a match, but if the result is not to the fan's liking, the women may suffer terrible consequences.
Wilson's Blogmanac, founded on April 26, 2003. Dedicated to the 353 victims of Australia's shame, the SIEVX disaster,
and casualties of poverty and authority worldwide. Public Domain (an explanation is at Wikipedia), Pip Wilson, 2003-2011. But kindly email if you republish. I'm currently launching and promoting the free e-book, 'Microminibliss', for
those interested in my new links directory, Bellingen (Australia), and my Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). (Use Search for that.) So, kindly Google the word 'Microminibliss', and some links will come up, not 25 million in the usual Google manner.

But goalies' fans will riot instead!
I didn't think you knew what a football field looked like. ;)
They won't attend the matches, I'm afraid. It's the tension they go for, largely.

A little beating here and there is what made the West great.
