Michael Taussig - At the going down of the sun

Michael Taussig - RN Artworks - 25 April 2010: "'When the Sun Goes Down: A Copernican Turn of Remembrance' is a talk Professor Michael Taussig gave at Monash University as part of an interdisciplinary dialogue called Thinking Through Colour and Light.

"His approach to the subject is broad, having done over ten years of anthropological fieldwork in places like Colombia, Putumayo and Venezuela, researching everything from the history of African slavery to fetishism, from the sociology of malnutrition to shamanism. His latest book is called My Cocaine Museum, but he is best known for Mimesis and Alterity. He is one of the most popular and diverse cultural theorists of our day."
