NSW government bans bottled water
Encouraging news for those worldwide who have for years been campaigning for the eradication of The Great Con, bottled water. Following the ban on this product in the New South Wales village of Bundanoon, NSW Premier Rees has banned bottled water in government departments. The government is also considering waging a public campaign to warn consumers of the high cost of bottled water.
"'Consumers spend 1,900 times more for bottled water than for tap water, yet they rarely know basic information about exactly what's in their water bottle,' said Jane Houlihan, an Environmental Working Group researcher."
