Wilson's remedy for surviving life

Here's Wilson's recipe for the soup that sustains life better than anything I know. There is a good reason why Jewish mamas make chicken soup. This is chicken soup with vegies:

Get a barbecued chicken, preferably one that has stuffing in it. If unavailable, get a chicken and barbecue or roast it. Cut the main bits of meat from the back and breast -- use for sandwiches. Simmer the remaining chook carcass in a large pot 2/3 full of water, for about 2 hours. Add chicken stock or consommé, mixed herbs, a big splash of tomato sauce, 2-3 finely chopped cloves of garlic, and as much hot chili sauce as you like -- or as much as you can stand. Also add salt and black pepper to taste. Add two chopped large carrots and the corn from two cobs. Simmer for about two hours. Let the pot cool. Break all the larger chicken bones and put back in the pot, in order to get the yummy chicken flavour of the marrow. Add about five finely chopped potatoes (not too fine). Simmer for another two hours. Add two chopped zucchinis and, if you like, a chopped red capsicum (bell pepper) for colour and taste. Simmer for another two hours. Let the pot cool and remove all the bones. Simmer for an hour. Add a handful of chopped mushrooms. Simmer for another hour or two.

Serve with a huge dollop of sour cream, sprinkled with freshly chopped chives.

This is my remedy for surviving life. It tastes better after the second day and with continued simmering. Enjoy. If not suited to taste, throw the whole out the window at the earliest opportunity.
