I.O.U.S.A. One nation. Under stress. In debt.
Thanks to Baz le Tuff, I have been able to watch I.O.U.S.A., a 2008 documentary film directed by Patrick Creadon. It's a must-see.
As the Wikipedia article says:
"The film focuses on the shape and impact of the United States national debt. The film features Robert Bixby, director of the Concord Coalition, and David Walker, the former U.S. Comptroller-General, as they travel around the United States on a tour to let communities know of the potential dangers of the national debt."
Good news: You might have to hurry, but the film is currently online in full here at Google Video.
I.O.U.S.A. made the Roger Ebert's list of five best documentary films of 2008.
