My City of Sydney by Tommy Leonetti

Sydneysiders, do you remember? This is the song they played when we oldies were young, every night on Sydney's Channel 7 at close of transmission:

'My City of Sydney'

written and sung by expatriate American croooner Tommy Leonetti -- filmed before they built the weird skyscrapers. The (badly) animated kangaroo at the end was played at about 11pm every night of our childhood and teenage years, when I was a TV addict and perhaps you, too.

I've just worked out what a "merry balloon" is. According to the Leonetti song, which I still rather like, it's something you toss in.

This was in the olden days; now he would have said "you toss in your merry Internet pornsites".
