South African holidays reflect human aspirations

As Australians enter their very welcome annual period of a cluster of four public holidays in one summer month -- Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Australia Day, it's instructive to note the public holidays enjoyed by South Africans. It would be good if our public holidays reflected such political consciousness.
