Using the principles of Permaculture, these suffering cotton growers in India could probably grow sufficient food, fibre and fuel for their lives.

However, it is likely that they have not yet heard of Permaculture, which is little surprise at it is still not widely known even in the land of its birth, Australia! This is because it threatens the dominant economic paradigm (corporate capitalism). The fact that it works for any climatic region is often swamped by that problem. Awareness can affect that, so spread the word about Permaculture.
