Fascinating audio. Michael B Oren discusses with Philip Adams the history of American-Middle East relations, and reveals some gems that I won't spoil for you. It's a one-hour radio program, and well worth listening. Oren has dug up some interesting history, including the role of US Christian fundamentalist-Zionists in Middle East relations.

"When we think of US involvement in the Middle East a few things come to mind - oil, Israel and more recently; terrorism. But the history of the US in the region goes backs several hundred years, well before the state of Israel was created, and long before there were any motor-cars to put oil into; to a time when a very different kind of Muslim warrior was threatening American interests."
