Webring owners bailing out

Webrings has a new 'benefits' program (a name that smacks of public relations advisors) that requires managers of more than two webrings to pay, and it seems that multiple-ring owners are bailing in droves.

About five webrings have contacted me this week advertising their webrings as up for adoption, or ceasing operation. As one webring owner wrote to me: "I am honored for your assocation with me as Webmaster and have enjoyed the rich content of your sites and have been proud to be assocated with you. This will be my last message to you, as I plan to delete this ring in short order, unless some member wants it."

My sole webring, Peace Planet, will not be affected.
