Baby attacked and killed by family dog

One's heart goes out to this family whose own dog attacked and killed their baby. While deaths are uncommon, dog attacks are such a regular occurrence that, as the old adage says, "Dog bites man. That's not news. Man bites dog. Now, that's news!" I saw too many dog bites when I worked in a children's hospital for three years.

We hope that people will take note of this and never allow these animals, which seem designed to bite any nearby flesh, close to babies and toddlers, or more such tragedies can be assured.
