Jesus' last words

What did he really say?

Matt.27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."

Luke23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

John19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

This list of Biblical contradictions is pretty good. Maybe you know a better one online.

The contradictions in eye-witness accounts of Jesus' life could actually serve to add depth and, even, believability, to the bible. Eye-witness accounts of news events, accidents, crimes, whatever, usually vary considerably. If the bible was a forgery, it more likely would have all the characters seeing and remembering the same thing.

The bible does have many contradictions and some books and writings were forbidden to be put in the bible. I am finding that the beliefs of Druids, which started long before Jewish history, are Beautiful beliefs.

History in general is full of contradiction. We have nothing but eyewitness accounts to rely on. The challenge is to gather all of these accounts and present them to the reader in an objective way.

The same goes for the Bible. We rely on Matthew, Luke, and John to recount Jesus' great sacrifice. Of course they're human, and therefore prone to subjectivity and human err.

Hope this helps.
